GIVE ME ALL THE CARHARTT, TREES AND TALL GRASSES, PLEASE! ANNIKA'S AND BILLY'S ENGAGEMENT PHOTO SESSION INCLUDED ALL OF THE GENUINE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ELEMENTS!
It was a gorgeous Sunday evening in October. We really couldn't have asked for a better day for an engagement photoshoot! It was 80 degrees, and the golden hour was just beginning. I hopped in their fancy GMC truck, and they drove me out to the place where they shared their first trail ride together... Robinson Canyon. It was so beautiful! There were tall brown grasses, a perfect combination of deciduous and evergreen trees, and a dirt road that led up to picturesque views of the valley. We began the session with a few ice breaker shots to warm my camera up to the light, and to get Annika and Billy more relaxed.
They started out the session in very casual outfits:
Billy in a green Carhartt T-shirt, and Annika in light Levi jeans and a green shirt to match Billy's. As you can see, they are very happy!

As the session progressed, the more fun we all had! Billy kept the session going with nonstop laughter, kissing Annika often, and he even brought a portable speaker to jam out and make the session livelier! He was a quick thinker and had many ideas for poses. All I basically had to do was click the shutter button! We walked around to various spots in the vicinity of where we parked the truck because they both had wonderful ideas on where to pose.
Fun Fact:
I'm always open to ideas, so if you decide to book a session with me, don't be afraid to offer ideas. I'm all ears!
Outfit #2 was this gorgeous flowy black top paired with the same Levi jeans, and what Billy referred to as "Boss Bitch" boots. He put on a nice Carhartt button up shirt and a leather patch cap that has their brand on it for their future ranch.

We drove a little further up the road and found a nice spot with exciting new elements! There was a rock face that I had Billy and Annika lean up on, and some sunlight lighting up the road and Aspen trees on both sides. This is where Billy remembered he brought his speaker. The music started playing and the two got more relaxed and more playful. I think I'm going to start bringing a speaker with me to photoshoots!
This is also where they changed outfits.

How much do we LOVE outfit #3?!

LOVE with all CAPS! That's how much we LOVE it!
The final location of the session was back down into the canyon into some tall grass. It was like a dreamy sea of amber waves! Annika had a vision in her head and had sent me some inspiration pictures prior to our photoshoot that she thought would look great in the tall grass. We recreated a few of them, and they turned out to be some my personal favorites from the entire session!

I'm really LOVING the PNW vibes in these final outfits! I love the Carhartt flannel paired with the fall colors of the grass and trees. And how gorgeous is Annika's outfit?! Actually... how gorgeous is she in ALL of her outfits?!

As we were headed back to the truck, I thought of an amazing idea of the two of them on the tailgate with their gorgeous pickup. We tried a few different options between tailgate up or down... I wasn't feeling the tailgate down, so Annika thought of the steps being used for him to step up on and kiss her.
Congratulations to amazingly beautiful & happy couple! They were made for each other. I am not going to be their wedding photographer because Annika has two best friends that have literally been BEGGING to be the photographers since forever... However, I will be attending their wedding as a guest and can't wait to witness these two join together in holy matrimony...
Happily ever after.
Amen.
